Oh No
My title may sound callous, but I can't think of anything. I can't think. My fingers are typing but my mind isn't thinking. Yesterday Bobby was apparently pretty sick. We kept him in the house the whole day. At first we thought he got too cold outside, since it was in the lower twenties and we hadn't seen him for a little while. Then we thought he may have been poisoned, but we don't know what happened; we never shall. This morning we called the vet, because he kept meowing, he sounded like he was in pain. He just wasn't getting better. At around 8:30, just about when Mother and Daddy were going to take him (Daddy was pulling the jeep down to the house) Mother asked me to look and see how his breathing was. At first I didn't think too much when he wasn't breathing, but I checked a few minutes later, and it was obvious he was dead. Now I can't write any more, I'm sorry, I just can't. I'll try to write more later.

Ooh Janet! I am so so so sorry! Love you. :'(
ReplyDeleteThanks to you, Janet, he had about the happiest life a cat could hope to have.
ReplyDeleteBobby was part of our family. I'm not a cat person. In fact, I dislike most cats, but Bobby was special from the time Kari brought her to Janet, over 5 years ago. He was smart, had a sense of humor, and liked people. If one of us got angry at him, or he got angry at us, he got over it quickly. He was best friends with our dog, Bear, when she was alive, and he became best friends with Janet's dog, Rosey. He saved both of his dogs lives, at different times. When Bear was getting old, and unable to move very well, Bobby was scratching at the door. I yelled at him. might even have pushed him away from the door with my foot, but he wouldn't quit. I went outside, and Bear wasn't around. I found her where she had been stuck in the swamp all night. It was like quicksand. I couldn't get her out without bringing my loader down, and rolling her into it. I don't remember how long she lived after that, but she would have died in the mud that day, if it hadn't been for Bobby. Another time, he kept meowing at Cindy, and wouldn't quit, so she followed him. He lead her to the bottom of the hill (just like Lassie) where Rosey was standing, paralyzed. She must have eaten something poison. She had to be carried to the car, and to the vet. Janet got a new kitten, Raphael, about a month ago. Bobby hated him, at first, but Raffi didn't give up on Bobby, and for about the last week, they had been starting to play with each other. Bobby was a good little friend. We really miss him.
